Today we had our first ever San Pedro Cactus ceremony with Lesley and Miguel. San Pedro is one of the 7 sacred healing plants and is an ancient medicine used for healing, connecting people back to the Earth and showing LoVe and truth.
There was Roanne, Kirsty, Frederik, Jason and us.
The ceremony took place in Lesley´s private garden at her home which is located near Cusco city and up near the temple of the sun and moon, a wonderful energy spot with caves. Lesley has an amazing entrance gate to her adobe home that is nestled in amongst other adobe homes, a nice little village. Lesley owns the two hostels plus another one and grows and dries San Pedro cactus for sale and ceremony. Miguel our friend the pirate guides the ceremonies.
The effects of the medicine were strong and we all lay down in the garden until we were ready for Miguel, a Peruvian indian and his wolf to take us on a walk in the Andes mountains surrounding the property. We felt like it was pixie play time and i picked up a llama´s rope and began to lead it away up the hill before deciding it was a bad decision because i would have to bring it back again. We all had a great day wandering around the hills. Roanne had a difficult and emotional but beneficial day and we all helped her through it. At one point i had her throwing rocks and shouting "BE HERE NOW". Alot of things in her life started to make sense to her as the medicine gave her what she needed. When we returned to the little granny flat at the bottom of the garden, there was a hobbit-sized guy using mud to make a hobbit-sized chiminea heater in the corner of the room. We all had a major feast and ate everything we had brought with us to eat, munchy madness. Eventually we walked with Miguel down through indian trails to San Blas and into Cusco town. The lights of Cusco are fabulous.
The San Pedro was a real nature-connector and we felt refreshed and happy and cleansed. Frederik and us spent the evening at Macondo bar admiring artworks and decor, drinking frozen Pisco Sour cocktails and sipping on vegetable soup.
