We immediately changed hotels to a small family run hotel called La Choz Inn then went shopping and got sorted in civilization. I bought some ivory nut jewelery and a little wooden Olive Ridley turtle to satisfy my obsession with them. It was a rain poncho jump in puddles type day.

We booked onto a bus that would take us to the Tabacon Hot Springs which are apparently world famous. This place was gourmet and tops for style. People were strutting around in white robes. Honeymooners and people seeking the medicinal healing qualities of the water were soaking and lounging in pools of various temperatures and sitting under waterfalls for a massage. The hot water comes directly from Arenal Volcano and flows around a natural setting filled with jungle type foliage. There is also a spa there. We enjoyed this place, it was pure luxury. There was a swim up bar that i couldnīt resist swimming up to, to order a 12 year old Flor-De-Cana rum whilst Nadine shot down a waterslide behind me 1

. We carried cash and cigarettes in a sealed pouch around my neck however the lot was ruined and we paid with wet money..

The best thing about the venue was an all you can eat backpackers dream extravagant buffet which we surprisingly found out was included in our entrance price. We hooked up with some Canadians and a Swede for dinner and devoured all we could in one hour. We munched down on paella with pippies and mussells, Snapper, chorizo, palm hearts, salads, cold meats, calamari, cheese and then custard, cheesecake, churros, chocolate strawberries. We stole many biscuits and all the tea bags including chamomile, earl grey and chai that we canīt buy here. I bought a whole watermelon a few days ago and have been carrying it around like a child. It must be eaten soon. We booked a jeep-boat-jeep to Monteverde tomorrow. On the road again.
