Everyone cry when they listen to Leaving On A Jet Plane, a fantastic track, even if it's Mills & Boon.

The rest of the tunes are tracks which remind us of friends and some are songs special people have given to us.

"I think I'll go for a walk today, see what i can find today"- Milo & Otis theme song

We hit Sydney this morning for some Minnitt family and Bec and Dan time after smashing our last few Tooheys New & Bundy & Cokes at the Coolangatta Airport bar and playing coaster frisbee with Don. I enjoy the transient feel of the airport with it's arrivals, departures and what looks to me to be oddball cariacatures of people coming and going in every direction. A fantastic place to people watch.

It was way too early and we were way too manic and excited to fly out with Richard Branson (Virgin) for breakfast. I was half expecting the oxygen masks to drop from the ceiling so i could continue to breathe normally. I noticed that no-one watched the tiny screens on the back of each seat and had the entrepreneurial idea to install pokie machines on the back of each first class seat (the rich and famous) then passengers just swipe their credit card and spin away to win cash monash, free flights and holidays. Texas Hold Em type poker tournaments could also be played online amongst passengers onboard. This would raise profit for the airline and impact the cost of flights by lowering the economy ticket prices and thus, we travel more cheaply and the gambling suckers are entertained for hours. Robin Hood style...... the rich giving to the poor..... i like it alot.

Imagine what i have invented after a twelve hour flight to San Francisco!!!

I also made the discovery that Baby monkee had stowed away in Nadine's backpack and is now along for the whole journey. Naughty, cheeky monkey you are but i am secretly very glad you are with us for the ride. Of course he's never one to miss a party and he will miss Swingin Safari.

So as we hear news of another hurricane blasting Mexico and whipping and lashing the coastlines there and of monks fleeing Burma amid tear gas and gunfire we hope for some soft landings on our way. We are ready for the challenges and the rewards. Bring it on!

The captain has turned the seatbelt signs on and we are fully strapped in for the ride.

Next stop, San Francisco

Hi Nadine & Kate, Jenni my oldest daughter has just arrived in S.A. after 3 months in Europe, she is with 2 guys and they are in Manaus after going down the Amazon from Iquitos. after RIO she is thinking of going down the bottom by herself and doing the nat parks in Argentina and Chile before getting the Navimag back up. I have given her your web site as she may have some questions about the nat parks and also how you think she will go travelling by herself in Argentina and Chile,PS take the Mongolian train when you do the trans siberian as we met poeple in Vietnam who said it was the more interesting route, you can then catch the train from China down to Hanoi and fly into Coolangatta direct with Air Asia for $300, we just spent a week in Malaysia for $200 return and they were OK, best wishes Hendo.
