Heritage Conservatory at the zoo
The appalling condition of the hapless caged animals is another story, however the zoo is and hopefully will remain a botanical treasurehouse.Our family usually goes to the zoo for a pleasant morning stroll once in every odd Sunday or holiday. Pretty uncaged wild birds lurk in the hedgerows and in the tall trees, also home to species of bat.
Butterflies are aplenty
Blue Wanderer on Senecio
and a real treat in the period from September to January when they are at their abundant best. A family of mongooses roams the nursery section at the rear of the zoo compound.Some of the rare tree species are
