Picked up Soojin at the airport in Albuquerque this afternoon and headed northwest towards the "Four Corners," the only spot in the United States where four states meet. The exact location is on Navajo Tribal Land, and for a fee you can get down on your hands and knees so that each limb is in a different state (for example you can have your left foot in Arizona, right foot in New Mexico, left hand in Utah, and right hand in Colorado). Soojin and I decided to skip this activity, but we did drive past Shiprock, a massive rock that rises 1700 feet above the desert and that is sacred to the Navajo Nation.
We had dinner near Farmington, NM and then rolled into the campground at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado around 9:30pm.
