Hello you,

hope you're all nice and cosy inside!

Yesterday we had a lovely day, nice and hot and no cold wind, but alas, it didn't stay that way! Today was freeeeezing....

In summer mode I went awalking through our oasis yesterday; "I'm going to the garden" - everyone calls the huge oasis their garden, and it looks that way a little because here in the near-desert there are no large fields but only sweet little beds under a forest of palm trees.

And an extra is that there's actually water in the river bed - yippie - the damn at Ourzazate was opened; it will remain open for 4 days. Very nice change, across the oasis labyrinth, the stony desert to the river.

Getting across the garden is an adventure as the way across changes depending on which water channels are open. Once the fields are wet it's not recommended to cross as the clay sticks to your shoes, is extremely heavy and difficult to remove. Hence, it is always an adventure to get in and out. Thankfully the casbah is visible from many places; I use Jebel Kissane for orientation to get in and my home casbah to get out.

Getting out at a different end made me discover the back of yet another casbah very close to our two.

I have documented my trip to the river in pictures; please see below....
