After a monster week of rum drinking, cricket, beaches, rum drinking, mostly naked girls dancing in mini-Carnivale, and one of the worst sleep-deprived hangover days (spent in 3 different countries) I've ever had - it was time to wave goodbye to Grenada. The Aussies smashed the Kiwis and all was well. Not to mention the treasure trove of rum that I took away. The last night at Grenada was spent at the Banana's Nightclub, where most of the Australian team were having a couple of drinks. I got to have a chat to Clarkey and Roy, and also Trent Morgan from the Irish team. I even bumped into Chris Bryant from Irrawang - small world...

One nasty day of hungover-flying later, I made it to St Lucia and passed out. The next day I awoke and took a 40 minute flight up to Dominica. This place is awesome! It's meant to be the 'nature island' of the Caribbean. Small population, massive volcanic mountains all over the place, it's got the goods. They filmed heaps of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 here (I think they're still filming some of the 3rd, cos they're massive pirate schooner is moored at Roseau Harbour, but no sign of Johnny or Orlando). I spent today doing the MASSIVE 20km ultra-mountainous hike to the world's 2nd-largest boiling lake, a flooded fumarole where hot volcanic gas comes from the earth to make the whole lake boil like a kettle. As I've come to appreciate with volcanic areas, the whole place stank like a dirty fart. But the scenery was awesome, although I got a minor scare when the ground I was on cracked open and almost dropped me into a scalding-hot sulphurous river. Good times, good times...
