I drove back down the 30 miles to Cantwell from The park after visiting with the Ranger who told me to buy a book called "Milepost" which gives you a mile by mile break down of every road in Alaska. Pertty amazing and only 26 bucks. You can drive along and instead of thinking "what's that shack doing there?" you can look it up and see that old Russ used to own it but moved down to the Montana last winter because of his Siatica.
The Denali Highway is insane. It's 163 miles of dirt and gravel across some of the most gorgeous country I've seen so far. The guide book makes a great point when they say just because it's not called "Denali Park" doesn't mean it doesn't have basically all the same stuff in it. I saw a ton of wildlife. Some that I got pictures of but some I couldn't due to the crappy camera. (it takes lousy far away pictures and it doesn't turn on very fast)
I had several other titles in mind for this entry:
1.) Pass Denali 'pon the left hand side
2.) Loosey Goosey and extra moosey
3.) Hey Alaska, show us your beaver
but instead I went with a descriptive title and kept the comedy for the inside.
The pictures do a great job of telling the story, so let's go to the film.
