After spending four and a half days on the train we emerged at Irkutsk, thousands of miles across Siberia, and found a hotel. After winning some money at a casino, we had a meal at a resturant, complete with beer. Tom had of course forgotten he'd taken Benadryl before that, and combined with beer, it produces delerium and hallucinations. So -Tom incapacitated by his visions of strange cockroach men -and I fled that hotel and wandered the streets of Irkutsk before moving on to Olkhan Island in Lake Baikal.
