Final week - counting down, gearing up

Thursday 19 May: Back home from our cheeky four day holiday in Tuscany; now it's time for the last packing-up slog. I'm frantically cramming all our personal junk into boxes for storage (the house is being rented out while we're away) while Rich is tying up our affairs - sorting out mortgage and house insurance admin, trimming hedges, arranging the repair and collection of the car etc. Phew, we have soooo much to do in the next week or so! Right now we're not thinking much about the trip, but simply focusing on getting it all done.
Sunday 29 May: That's it, we said good-bye to Edinburgh this morning! After a 6am start and an early morning session of hoovering, mopping and last-minute packing, we handed over the house keys to the tenants and caught the 11.30am flight to London. Despite being real hard work and quite stressful, our final week at home in Edinburgh also included many cheerful excuses for a good party - a last braai and drunken bash with our sailing buddies on Friday the 20th, our neighbour's 40th on the Saturday, a hen party on Sunday the 22nd, a last blast (and plenty shooters) with the usual suspects on Friday the 27th and a 30th birthday night out on Saturday. We're all partied out and exhausted. Looking forward to resting up in London (not!).
