We have been on the run since we left Hill AFB in Utah driving around 200 miles a day.  We spent one night in Jerome, Idaho, a night in Fruitland Idaho, and then to Hermiston Oregon. The scenery along the way has been a little boring, very brown from Utah to Boise. I was wondering if I would ever see green.  When we did get closer to Boise and near civilization you could see that spring has sprung...the trees were in blossom and flowers here and there. A much better view from my side of the truck. Thank the Lord for safe travels and for Jerry, he is such a good driver so careful, I know it has been stressful these last few days with all the wind, rain and climbing those mountains!  The drive to Hermiston Oregon from Fruitland Idaho was a beautiful one.  We crossed the Snake River and crossed into Oregon.  We then finally saw beautiful grass covered mountains which then changed to tree covered mountains and then the snow covered mountains in the distance. We had rain, hail, wind, sunshine and temperatures from 41 to 62 thank goodness no snow! We are grateful to rest tonight and prepare for our final day of driving!  Post Falls here we come!

Bill Morrow on

Barb and Jerry,
I have read every post and thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with your travels. You visited so many places where I had been stationed or visited through the military...it was fun revisiting and remembering the sites. I am thankful your journey was a safe and enjoyable one. Thank you for sharing this amazing trip.
