We arrive in Zurich at six in the morning. When we left Prague it was raining, and when we arrive here... wait for it.. more rain. I swear itīs like this cloud is following us around! Add to this that we can only get our room at five this afternoon (11hrs of waiting with no bed for a nap, or place to put our huge bags) and that Heather is sick and we can officially call this one a bad day!
But like all cloudy days there are silver linings. The sun came out eventually.. we cooked an incredibly good meal and our roommates were very nice (and more importantly quiet!) so the next two days we had nothing but good memories and a relaxed trip.
Lugano and Locarno.
Twin beautiful tropic-like cities at the bottom of Switzerland. This is where Versazca dam is. For you movie buffs here is your random fact of the day: In GoldenEye, James Bond takes a 733 foot dive off this dam and harpoons himself to the ground. Now theyīve told me they are still looking for the gun but that the jump is still a go!
220 meters, 7 seconds of freefall, the biggest bungee jump in the world. Anyhing higher and youīre on a hot air balloon ride! See now the problem with bungee jumping is that you are just high enough to see with great accuracy where they are going to pick you up with a spoon if something goes wrong.. they assured me that "that" doesnīt usually happen though! Time passes, and I meet a few Canadians as we are looking at about a dozen people screaming their lungs out. This makes you think: "Why am I giving 250$ to scare the crap out of myself when I could keep it and live a longer saner life?" Well before you can answer that question, you are snugly tied into your harness, youīre at the edge and they are counting down
To sum it up, the jump was amazing, this is my third jump, and by far the best. The rushing feeling of diving next to this wall is priceless. Itīs on my recommended list, if you have money to burn and brain cells to kill by fear you should really "drop by" for a quick visit!
Now I would like to say that the next few days were beautiful. But really it rained or more accurately it was like torrential rain. If I had the material I would be building myself an Arc right now and gathering two of all tourists I could find.. At least I think thatīs how it goes....???
Well we are off to Barcelona for 2 days before starting the running of the bulls. You never know I might become the next most famous video on YouTube- being the only gringo to run the wrong way! :)
Jonathan, how fast does a bull run again? Thatīs a joke right?, Tessier
