Today I got up and I was sore from all the
walking I have done in the last few days, plus I have blisters on my
feet that I got in London and I have a pain at my right hip where I
must have bashed it or something. But with all these things I still
got up and had breakfast. Breakfast was in the hotel basement, it was
down the stairs and it was a poorly lit. After breakfast I went back
to the room to get ready for the day. I then left the hotel.

It was still early and shops were just opening,
I walked around the old square and continued on to the river. At the
river I crossed the bridge and made my way to the tram station. The
tram was just pulling into the stop when I got there. This was the
number 22 tram and it should have dropped me at the entrance to
Prague castle, however I got off at the stop before and had to walk
up a small hill for the rest of the way. I got to Prague castle and
took in the various views, got a ticket for the different areas and
proceeded to explore the castle.

Inside the castle I had a look at the church,
this was an amazing church, lots of decoration and it was very open.
I also had a look at some of the museums that were in the castle,
including some of the history of the castle. When I had arrived at
the castle there were not many people around, but as the morning wore
on, more and more tourists began to wander around. I also had a look
at a small chapel and then the state apartments, these had good views
of the surrounding city. There was also the golden lane, which had
displays on what the various buildings were once used for. I also saw
the knights in the white tower. I then had a look at the dungeon near
one of the exits of the castle. There was also a toy museum in the
castle grounds that I had a look at. Lastly I saw the changing of the
guards. Prague castle was great, there was lots of history and the
displays were well done, I just wish that I could have spent more
time inside, but I wanted to explore some more of the town.

I left the castle and headed to the metro
station. I caught the metro to Wenclause square. At this square I got
a giant sausage at one of the street side stalls and just explored
the street, watching some of the performers. At the end of the street
was the national museum. I entered this museum and it was another
interesting museum – lots of history was displayed here. After a
few hours of exploring the museum I left and continued to walk around
the outside square. I went back to the metro station and caught the
metro back to the main station. From here I walked around the old
Jewish area of the city. There was not much to see in the area as if
you wanted to see inside a building, an entrance fee was required.

I then gave up on the Jewish area and walked
back to the old town square. Here I got a ticket to walk to the top
of the clock tower. The top had some great views of the square, and I
took many pictures. Once down the bottom again I got a gelato, got a
ticket for a ghost walk later tonight, got some souvenirs and
explored some more. I then went back to the hotel where I unpacked,
did some washing, used the internet, repacked my bag and planned my
trip to the airport tomorrow morning. I relaxed at the hotel for a
bit before leaving and then just wandering around the old square. I
explored the old square for about 2 hours, getting food from the
street vendors – great food, wandering around, looking at the
performers and the having a look at the shops in the area.

At 7pm the ghost tour started in front of the
Astronomical clock. It was a mcphees ghost tour and this one went
into the town hall and underneath it. There were lots of stories
about the place and it was great, we didn't see any ghosts, but it
was fun all the same. The guide gave some great history of the place.
After the tour I found a place to eat dinner, it was some great food.
I then went back to my room and had an early night. I found Prague to
be a great city and I enjoyed exploring it, I would have to come back
and explore more.
