We had a nice relaxing day while the locals celebrated their independence day. There was a parade through the main street in the town. We thought the celebrations had started at 6am but it was only the army training with machine guns and bombs! Better than any alarm clock! The days here are lovely and warm but once it gets dark it gets much colder than San Pedro de Atacama. It is 3,600m above sea level with very little clouds. It is a colourful town with lots of tourist shops and tour agents mixed with traditional customs and people. Especially today.
