Another dream came true!
5 days is just about enough to see a lot but not all of the amazing sights on Easter Island.
It was excellent, the island is really beautiful, full of horses, volcanoes, caves...and of course the Moai, the huge stone carved statues. We had a very interesting, and expensive, day tour around a few of the sites and we learned a lot about the ARPA Nui turbulent history and some theories on how these giant statues were carved and transported around the island. We spent a few days trekking around the island with some other nice travelers we met, even after 20 Km walks it was still fun.
And we met another couchsurfer, Roberto, who lives there. He showed us around and brought us on a trek to the top of the highest point of the island, which nearly killed us. We went with him to a spectacular traditional Rapa Nui dance show....just wait for the video. Ian is still scared and Im still smiling.
It was one of the biggest highlights of our trip so far.
