We had SO much fun at Cedar Point! You would have thought that we were children instead of adults! It was like being a kid in a candy store! I love roller coasters and have always wanted to come to Cedar Point! It is better than Disney World or any other theme park (for adults) because the whole park is roller coasters! Since there are 16 main roller coasters we tried to start off slow and get our adrenaline going before attempting some of the more daring rides...we were preparing to lose our voices, but hopefully not our lunch! Here is a brief overview of our excitement:
We started off with the Demon Drop which simulates a free-fall from the top of a 10-story-tall building. The car ascends to the top of the tower in only six seconds, suspends there for what seems like an eternity, then without warning plummets 60 feet in less than two seconds
The Raptor is one of the tallest & fastest inverted roller coasters in the world. Looming at 137 ft in the air and reaching a top speed of 57 mph! This thrilling ride flips riders over, spirals them upside down into a 180-degree roll and repeats the twisting motion in reverse!
We weren't able to ride the Top Thrill Dragster because by the time we had prepared ourselves for it the wind had picked up and they closed the ride for safety reasons. But here are some of the reasons we wanted to try it: The Top Thrill Dragster has claimed the title of the tallest & fastest roller coaster in the universe - reaching 420 ft tall and topping out at 120 mph! Reaching 120 mph in approximately 4 seconds it zooms straight up a 420-ft-tall hill rotating 90 degrees, free falls back down and then twists at 270 degrees! Oh yeah, and you start the ride being launched by a hydraulic system that is similar to those that launch air crafts off of an air craft carrier!
The Mantis was a new experience for us because it is one of the tallest and fastest stand-up scream machines in the world. You fly down a 145-foot-tall first hill at an outrageous top speed of 60 mph, all while standing up!
My favorite ride was the Wicked Twister! The Wicked Twister is a 215-ft-tall, 72-mph ride that is definitely a scream machine! You go forwards up one side and then backwards up the other! I think I screamed the entire ride...but then got back in line to do it again!
Without boring everyone with a description of every ride in the park I will just say we had a blast and can't wait to visit again!
Unfortunately, we now have to get back into the Xterra and drive for a few more days without any exciting stops until we reach Colorado. Hopefully it will fly by and we will be there before we know it!
