During our layover in Sydney we grabbed a snack and checked our email at a free Internet kiosk. We gave Pepe a few tips and what to see & do while in the Islands. While waiting to board we ran into another friend from the ICE, Susie, who will be staying with Cindy, another ICE friend, in Mililani!
We got into our seats and were a bit disappointed to see that we did not have individual TV's like we did on the way down to NZ. But on a positive note, the plane was completely full except for one open seat next to us! So we got 3 seats to ourselves to spread out for the next 10 hours!
A few interesting facts about our flight from our onscreen updates: We were cruising at 33,000 ft at the speed of 548 mph and the temperature outside was -36F!
Soon after the flight took off the movie Enchanted started and we were served dinner. Unfortunately by the time they got to our row they were out chicken and only had fish. So Aaron got the fish, even though we both don't like it, and Michelle just ate the side salads. Mostly everyone went to sleep after dinner, but Michelle can't sleep on planes so she spent the rest of the night watching the featured movies: August Rush & The Game Plan.
Right before breakfast was served we hit a nasty patch of turbulence which had us bouncing through the air! Everyone was a bit nervous, with a few anxious squeals here and there, but it soon subsided and breakfast was served. Before we knew it the flight was over and we were landing in the sunny state of Hawaii!
