this may need a bit of translating, the keyboard apparently only does punctuation when it fancies!!..
Rather than head to the Volta region via the north of lake volta we returned to Kumasi, which actually worked out shorter in time, plus we got to pay a return visit to Jerry. yet again we had a really great time, though it's hard to say what exactly it is about the place since its certainly not an attractive city and theres not even much to do.
We returned to the market and were struck yet again by just how friendly everyone is. The shouts are more likely to be of hello sister or how are you than the slightly aggressive obruni. We befriended a breakfast stall owner, who served us coffee in plastic jugs as we sat on a low wooden bench. The too sweet instant nescafe with condensed milk would probably taste disgusting anywhere else, but there\s something about the setting that makes it so good.
i wanted to capture the atmosphere on camera and the owner was delighted to snap us. Once id shown her what to do she proudly shouted to all her friends to coe and watch while she took a very shakey shot. Lots of people here are fascinated by photography but are often startled by the flash, or bemused by the red eyes, asking will they stay like that. Children in particular readily volunteer to be subjects, often crowding in uninvited before demanding to see the result.
