We came back to the hotel for a breather. Everyone was a little tired and so it was suggested that a nice hour in room break was the order of the day. That was fine until some of the group decided to play the old phone box favourite - how many students can we fit into the lift - which caused a technical malfunction resulting in 8 students being stuck in the lift for 10 minutes. Yep, onward and upward!
We were lucky enough to have a visit at the hotel from Rowan Martin-Hughes. He is a local Glen Huon guy who is now living in Phnom Penh working for Australian Volunteers International as a 'knowledge management consultant' .....an information organiser basically. He spoke about his experiences living and working in Cambodia - the students were really interested to hear about how he came to be a volunteer and the challenges he faces on a daily basis.
Then off for dinner - a spectacular feast of Khmer food. The restaurant was just beautiful - the lighting, flower arrangements, food presentation - it really was something else. We're not sure how we're going to go eating when we get back home after being spoilt over here.
So now, a good night's sleep. We're all pretty tired and we have a big bus ride tomorrow to Siem Reap. BUT, it is via the 'spider village' so we'll see what that brings......just wait for the photos of that one!! Catch you tomorrow!
