Saquarema:
Moving on from Ipanema, we made our way east of Rio to the Surfing town of Saquarema, where we have spent the past few days trying to surf.....again :-) Great fun and very comical, but the Ituana waves are very aggressive; Isa has literally flown off the board like a bird!!!! the instructor had to remind Isa, it was not about taking off but surfing;-p Again another fantastic place: Our Pousada where we stayed was just a stone throw away from the beach. Great locals here too, but out of the big city the Brazilian is even more difficult to understand, making it all the more entertaining....it sounds like a song so just keep smiling and everything will go fine!!! ;-) On our last day we met a group of Brazilian friends from Sao Paulo, who spoke fantastic English, which was great for us. Great people that we hope to meet again before leaving Brazil.
Tomorrow we are leaving this small paradise for another :-) Ilha Grande (south of Rio and north of Sao Paulo).......to be continued
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saquarema:
A suivre

Busy winter sunday on Itauma beach
