Just a quick update from this town settled ...
Entry 10 of 12 | show all | print this entry |
Just a quick update from this town settled by German immigrants around 1840, now a tourist stop in the Adelaide area. I'm now filled to bursting with an Aussie/German breakfast of German sausages, poached eggs on toast, grilled tomato, potato salad, green salad, pickled red cabbage and pickles with grainy mustard on the side. I think I'll be skipping lunch today.
Sadly, this is our last day down under. Each day we repeatedly say, "We'll spend more time here when we come back." I do hope we have the opportunity. The vastness of the continent is deceiving. I think that it is partly due to it being a country that is 3/4 the size of the US divided among only six states.
We will spend just the afternoon in Adelaide and then fly to Melbourne this evening. Tomorrow morning we begin the long haul first to Sydney and then on to Honolulu where we'll spend two nights before finishing up in Kauai. There we'll settle in at one spot for ten nights in one place, so I expect to have time to fill you all in on the more than you probably want to know about what we've seen and done at the close of our second round of Australia.
Cheers all.
