I drove to the airport right after my night shift a couple hours before my flight. The airport was not busy at all. Security was a breeze. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't frisked though. I needed some morning excitement to keep me awake.
As I was waiting, I updated my Facebook status and enjoyed seeing everyone's comments on my trip. I actually received one from a friend of mine, Jenny, and she said she was at the airport waiting on a flight as well. It turns out we were on the same one to Minneapolis. Funny.
The flights were long, but I was able to sweet talk the attendant at the desk to switch my seats so that I would have the whole row to myself
I met a girl on the plane that was flying to Japan to see her sister. She was from Taiwan, but lived with her husband in Indianapolis. Husband...darn. The funny thing about her is that her name is so hard to pronounce so everyone calls her Chai T.
Customs and immigration went smoothly. I only bought one carton of cigs for my youngest uncle because that was the limit I could bring in. I should have bought more because I didn't even get checked. I might have to do that on my way back, but US customs might be stricter about it.
No welcome greeting at the doors for me. As you can see in the picture, families were waiting for their loved ones to arrive. Mine were late, but only by a few minutes. We packed up the car and headed to their house. I was expecting a parade for my arrival, but to my surprise there wasn't one. Just kidding. It was about midnight so everyone was a sleep already sat my grandparent's house. I was staying at my uncle's who lives only a block or so away. I'm was tired!
