From Quito, it`s a 5 hours bus ride to the border, then an hour and a half to cross through customs, added to another 4 hours or so to the nearest big town. As if i hadnt had enough of bus rides by now...
Id obviously heard many tales about bandits, guerrillas and the dodgy police in Columbia, but every single person I had met on this trip who had been here told me only to expect great things from this Country, the trouble was passed. So me and Ed went to stay in a very quiet hostel in town, planning to move on early the next morning. Everything was closed due to a religious festival the day before, but we did meet a Yorkshire lass called Claire and joined forces for our trip to Popoyan and San Augustine.
