So after the 4 day Salt Flat tour, we stayed one night in Uyuni (nothing much to note, apart from a few days after we were there a group of english boys practically blew up the hostel we stayed in with dynamite that theyd bought in Potosi). Sadly, we seperated to go off to different places. I was joined by my buddy Erna on a trip to Sucre, which weŽd heard good things about. Anyway, after a pretty weird bus ride there, where we somehow lost our backpacks TWICE in 5 hours, only for them to turn up the following morning, we arrived in a very pleasant town. Its pretty small (110,000 people) but its the judicial capital of Bolivia, so it has some decent architecture. The weather was lovely and hot as well, so it gave me a chance to catch up on my tan
I decided to take some spanish lessons, which went well, and only cost 5USD per hour for private tuition.
The first week was pretty dull as I was staying in a crap hostel, but then i moved and it all got much better. I met a really nice group of people in the new hostel and invested in a decent single room with cable TV (oh the luxury!).
I ended up staying for about 2 and a half weeks, and virtually every day involved at least one visit to the dutch bar, Joyride. Great place!
