Buenos Aires in the summertime

Right, Im finally here in sunny, humid and hectic BA. After over 20 hours in a plane, and not a huge amount of sleep I arrived at my residence which was pretty empty at first. It soon filled up though and we started taking advantage of the fantastic roof terrace to have a few drinks on. I have been staying with mostly americans, plus one danish girl, and another english girl, and the atmosphere there is always very pleasant and a lot of fun, even if the cultural differences these yanks have are quite strange!
I started spanish classes between 1 and 4pm each day and picked up the basics quite quickly, although its still obvious that ive not done much before. Ive also been out and met loads of people in bars and clubs. The nightlife here is peculiar as it tends to start about 1 or 2am and go on until 7 in the morning. Its quite surreal to watch the sun rising over the docks in Puerto Madeiro (a barrio of BA) while youve got a g&t in your hand and thumping music in your ears.
I went to an area with a bad reputation (la Boca) to have a tour around the famous Boca Juniors football stadium. Everything was good until me and my mate Henrietta left, and were attacked by some guys trying to mug us. It was a main touristy street in broad daylight, and although we were both very shocked, our instinct was to fight them off and they got away with nothing apart from poor H who had her knnes scratched up on the pavement a bit. That was the worst thing that´s happened so far. Lets hope nothing does! More thumbnails ...
