Hi! Or should I say "Hola!" I got bit with the travel bug again (pesky fucker) and have ended up in Cabarete, DR. The capital, Santo Domingo was awesome! There are forts and cathedrals and palces dating from the 16th century! The first cathedral, mint, and fort in the new world are all here. It's unbearably cool. The poverty level is pretty low too, which was suprising. Now I'm in the north in a small town called Cabarete. I took a bus from the capital which airconditioned me within an inch of my life. Then at the last stop (still a ways from my town) I hopped off and onto the back of a moped which sped me off in the direction of Cabarete. It was sooooo much fun! There were cows
and potholes and lots of fresh air. And for less than half the price of a taxi it was worth it! Wind and kite surfing are all popular and the beach is packed with them. The town itself is filled with chubby, white college kids which makes it undesirable in my eyes but the hotel I'm at makes up for it! I'm paying $28 a night and I have my own air conditioned cabana, hot water, and a patio. The pool is to die for with a mini waterfall! It's marvellous! Tomorrow I go swim in a big waterfall and go offroading! Very exciting! Food is good and it's hot as Hades, need cocktail...
It's ok to hate me.
