Well, it's been a few days since I've edited the old Travelpod...been preoccupied with scholarships, study abroad forms, end-of-term papers, corn bread, running the border and whatnot.

But I finally got out and did something very early this morning; I went to the camel races.  Actually, it's too late in the season to see the races.  I missed the last of them because I was too lazy to go out to the track last week.  But they had something like "camel warm-ups" and "camel running excercises", and, well, I guess that's good enough.

If you can stand getting up that early, I'd recommend the experience.  You can take some cool pictures of things, and people ride around on groups of camels and try to interact with you in partial English.  Sometimes, they shout Hi--or Marhaba--as they are running past on the track.  Very enthusiastic.

I was taking lots of pictures of camels and their riders, and suddenly this guy riding the camels pulls out his cell phone and takes a picture of me!  Bet that's something you didn't expect!  Now we're equal, right?
