We went to another user-friendly cultural event; this time it was to a breakfast where they served traditional Emirati food, which was nice...and it cost a hefty fee, which was not nice.

I wound up giving the Grand Tour of the Bastakia, water taxis, and Gold Souk to a friend's parents...because I like to run in the mouth about everything I know.  I was planning to cut through the Gold Souk after I'd dropped them off and catch the next bus back to campus and get to class!

Now, I've been through the Souks at least ten other times, and I generally have a good sense of direction.  And somehow, I wound up two kilometers south of where I needed to be!  Somebody please explain that!  I had to figure out where I was, and how to get to the bus station, by which time I had completely lost my chance to get to class at all...(school skipper!)

I just wish I knew how that happened...it doesn't make sense!  I am very happy, however, that at least her family wasn't still with me!
