"Madina" means city in Arabic--so when I entitled this entry "Madinat Jumeira", I literally meant, Jumeira City.  See!  I told you everything was its own City around here!

It's actually just sort of a high-end souq, connected to a hotel, and a number of other things that they won't let you into.  It's on the waterfront, and you get to see the omnipresent Burj al-Arab in the background at all times.

Thought you would enjoy the photos:
So very posh

Madinat Jumeira has this really posh architecture.  It's all brand new, but it's designed to look like it's old-fashioned, and they usually do a pretty good job.  We were joking that it looked like something out of Indiana Jones--I dunno what, though:  "Indiana Jones goes on Vacation"?  I wish I had a video recorder, and we could make our dreams come true!  Anyway, I tried to capture some of the architecture in this shot, and in the background is the omnipresent Burj.

And here is proof that I was actually there, and I'm not just making all this up and having you hang on my every word as some sort of sick joke:
Here I am
