Here's how I spent today.  (I have finally managed to upload my camera phone pix!)

First, Liz took our group to the Jumeira Mosque, which was kind of fun, and kind of not.  The guy didn't really teach us anything we didn't learn in Brolley's Islam 101, and gave us all these little politically correct, feel-good answers.  The good news is, we did learn how to clean ourselves before prayer, and it was just beautiful inside (although, in my own biased opinion, not quite as beautiful as St. Monica's, if I may).  You certainly left with a smile on your face, which I guess is all that counts.

And here is what it looks like on the inside.  You had to cover your head and take off your shoes (finally, folks who understand this!)

Then we went out to eat at this awesome restaurant along the Creek, during which time we saw an amphibious bus--it was just like in the Nickelodeon show, The Wild Thornberrys.  It's kind of hard to see, but if you click on it it's easier:

It's pretty cool, right?

We also went to the seaside, and saw a few museums about the history of Dubai and it's people.  I would recommend it, actually, because they have this underground exhibit with lifesize figurines of life in Old Dubai.
