Last night Liz our guide took us to the Global Village, which is sort a theme park souq.
A good way to describe it is that, first, it's like international section at Disney World (I can't remember what it's called...it's been so long...), except less lame. There are a lot of buildings/booths (it's hard to describe exactly), and each one represents a different country and is decorated accordingly. Like for instance, Saudi Arabia's building is this massive desert fortress, and Kenya's has these gazelles. You go inside, and they sell you/tempt you with goods from that country.
PLUS--there are also some amusement park rides (like the ferris wheel and Viking ship) and a lot of multi-ethnic restaurants where you can eat--provided you haven't lost your appetite from the rides.
Then they have fireworks, and then everyone leaves.
One funny thing about Global Village is that when you leave you better darn well make SURE you don't leave anything behind, because once you get on the highway, it stretches for like ten miles before you can turn around and come back. The same for going there. Don't go there unless you WANT to.
