Next up were the high-altitude shores of the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca.  We based ourselves in Puno, but the highlight was taking a boat trip to some local islands.  The Uros islands were first, and they are literally man-made floating structures constructed with bundle upon bundle of local reeds.  The inhabitants (we're pretty sure many them wear jeans and sleep in Puno at night) sell crafts and host tourists.  The next island, Taquile, was amazing.  It felt much more authentic, and wandering the island that has changed comparatively little for hundreds of years was great.
