Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna Himal. It is serene, surrounded by mountains and situated at the edge of a lake. It is a town for trekking, paragliding, white-water rafting, canyoning, and biking. We spent 12 days here, three anticipating our trek and the rest relaxing afterwards. Spending a lot of time in one place is a rewarding way to get to know a place and its people. By the end of our stay, we knew the barber, the internet shop guy, the owner of our breakfast joint, the laundry lady and the guy running the best food cart in Nepal.
