Well, I thought it was about time I wrote an entry and also before I move on to do some fun things (and possibly more frequent updates for a while!). My time here in Christchurch has been enjoyable and I have made some great friends but it's not somewhere I ever intended to stay or think I could stay 每 they have a real winter which has near enough killed me after being in mostly warm countries for the past 17 months!

Work at PayGlobal finished on Friday which was a weird feeling. It went by very quickly for the most part and I could easily have stayed longer. It was a great and very easy place to work. It was very international (as in people from all over the world!) so I didn't feel like an outsider and 'end of month drinks' was actually closer to a weekly occurrence so that was always fun! They have invited me back this Friday for the real end of month drinks so they can say goodbye! Very kind of them# and being a backpacker, I'm not gonna turn down the free booze!

I've been going back to the hostel and sleeping on the couch pretty much every weekend so I can party with my new found friends 每 we've had some crazy nights including a Chilean night, game night and plenty of nights drinking and dancing! With the amount of fun I had been having there I decided to stick around for an extra week without working so on Monday I packed up and moved out of my little house in the suburbs with ducks in the river and moved back into Vagabond hostel which is just like a second home to me. The cats in their fave place - my bed!

The woman I live with offered me the room for free for the week but I just wanted to jump back into the social circle. It was a very good decision 'cos I've already had so much fun this week! I*ve done nowhere near as much as I had planned to do but I have until Monday so I should be done by then! If not then I'll be coming back at least once 'cos I fly out of here so I'll get stuff done then!

I have returned to the house today to catch up on internet stuff and do some laundry and I will miss this house and the cats that came with it (one of them is on my lap at the moment!) but it's time to move on and become a traveller again and have lots of fun until the money runs out and I have to work!

My plans are gradually coming together (it's so tough for me to even remotely plan 每 especially after the past few months of not having to do so!) and I have at least the next 12 days planned! At some point I'll be skydiving, abseiling, black water rafting, swimming with dolphins, zorbing and sand-boarding (to name a few things!) but for now I know that I'm heading up to the north island via Kaikoura (a little coastal town) and Wellington. I'll only be stopping in each of those for one night as Wellington will most likely be the place I stop for work next on the way back down to the south island. I've also looked into their SPCA (our RSPCA) for volunteering possibilities and I might also contact them to see if they have short term contract work. My zoo investigations have been useless 每 they were happy to take me as a volunteer to work with the tourists but that defeats the purpose being as it's the animals I'm missing and certainly not the tourists!

Some other good news I've had is that my parents are coming to visit in May next year! After much discussion they've managed to tie me down in some sort of way! Knowing how I am and my change of plans (they wanted to come visit me in Australia last Christmas 每 lucky they didn't book as I was still in Thailand!) it was tough to confirm a date with them but my flight is booked to Melbourne from here so it's pretty much the only date when I have nothing planned so far! They'll be staying for a month and we'll do a quick stop tour of the massive country that is Australia 每 if you have any suggestions to make of places to go then pass them on to them and they can write them down and investigate them!

Other than that I don't have all that much news to update you all on. Zibella pretends to be a tiger!

I'll keep you as posted as I can as I move around and try to put pictures up (it would help if it didn*t take so damn long to upload them!). There should be some pics with this entry if I had the time to upload them and more will probably follow once I steal some from people at the hostel!

Hope all is well with everyone in their parts of the world and not to rub it in but I've just suffered enough of winter so as most of you go into yours just keep in mind that I'm heading into a much warmer summer! Take care all!
