He he, so theres just over 3 weeks to go till I ship out of London on this trip I am apparently going on (really?? am i??  i really am going??), and today's ironic happenings made me giggle.

I got an email from the language school in Guatemala with an attached document containing instructions on how to make payment of the deposit.  But it was all in Spanish. Of which I know none.  Which is why I am going to Spanish school.  If only I could pay the deposit.  He he.

Plans are coming along, albeit slowly.  As my Facebook status proudly proclaimed earlier this week - flights booked LAX - Guatemala City woo hoo.  Or something to that effect.  The Spirit Airlines flight seemed quite cheap but I have a sinking feeling in a Ryanair kinda way it may turn out not to be quite so cheap.  Oh well, live and learn.

Having a minor moment of uncertainty of how far in advance I need to book the Inca Trail as clearly theres a lot to be seen and done between Guatemala and Peru and who knows how long that will take and lets be fair I have no idea when I might be in Peru, but as we say outside Anfield when touting for tickets "it will all become clear".   Any tips gratefully accepted from those that have done it.  Or those that haven't - I can't be picky.

With just over 2 weeks left of work I am well and truly over it and ready to leave.   As if I don't have enough to think about planning my own trip, they have the nerve to expect me to actually still do some work.  And make plans for my own absence and even hire my replacement.  How rude ;-)

After missing my final vaccinations because I was a tad hungover from an Arctic Monkeys gig the night before (I swear one of them Essex boys must have spiked my pint of wine..) I am now rebooked for them and my rabies jabs on 3 out of my 4 remaining Saturdays in London.  Nothing like leaving things to the last minute.  Beats frothing at the mouth though I guess (isn't that what happens when you have rabies or am I thinking of some Stephen King novel??)

So basically, we are onto the final countdown.   Nothing seems in the slighest real, not even Christmas at home with my family for the first time in 8 years although I am very excited about that.   The next 3 weeks are going to be crazy, it tires me out just thinking about it right now.  Time to look at that to do list...
