A little bit of luxury for three days and top hospitality from Faresh and his misses Lucy...top people and Lowe theres no excuses get yourself out over here on a cheap airline deal, Hong Kong is the nuts!!!!
I was half expecting Honkers to be something like Singapore, which was in all a bit of a disappointment...not here. The place is a stunning mix of modern and old...sky scrapers and mountains.
I have however had to start getting myself tuned into the Hong Kong pushing...if your polite you dont get anywhere!!! and the rat runs of pedestrian walkways that work there way around the city and through the endless buildings.
Expensive...not too bad...you can still get cheap noodles for less than a quid!
So first day Chinese Visa obtained with relative ease and a wonder around the Central financial district gazing up at the buildings, most impressive the China Bank Tower. The afternoon I took the newly opened sky lift to the largest outside sited Buddha for brilliant views over the Lantau bays and islands, plus of course the giant bloke himself.
Second day a mission catching up on email and the afternoon avoiding the stormy down pours of rain....but fun on the avenue of stars (my hands have touched Jackie Chans...sort of!!!) with hand prints of all the stars and a statue to the legion Bruce Lee. More city views of Hong Kong Island and then a drinking session.
Final day a trip North to the 1000 Buddha monastery, which is not so impressive outside but inside has walls of lined Buddhas..pretty damn cool.
I fly back on the 9th for one night, hoping for better weather and a trip up Victoria Peak.....tomorrow Japan
