I know its new year here, but I'm getting fed up of being soaking wet all the time. This is how they celebrate new year over here, by throwing water over each other.
Considering I have a stinking cold and an eye infection (from water thrown at me) I'm not in the best mood to become even wetter!!!
Just got to Vieteniene, the capital of Laos after 3 days in Vang Vieng, a weird little town on the banks of a river with spectacular rock formations and caves.
Here you do one of two things
1) Go tubing down the river, stop off and the pubs and rope swing
2) Get mashed up and sit watching reruns of friends, family guys and the Simpson's
In many ways I preferred Luang Prabang, however took this place for what it is had a time tubing along the river and the swings, what fun...and pretty scary due to the height of some of the them. My arms burn today from running off and trying to get has much distance as possible.....lots of fun.
The place where we stayed was also top, bungalows on the river bank....my hut only cost 2 pounds a night and was a bargain.
So back to Bangkok again and onto Cambodia for more temples and Angkor..
