The photos on here deserve a page of their own.
I actually crossed the Cook straits on the 6th December, but the views are so spectacular I had to use another blog.
After discovering my card had arrived I jumped on the first interislander ferry I could from the North to the South island. The journey lasts roughly three hours, but this went so quickly as the views were great and beats the Dover to Calais crossing any day.
The journey takes you through the magnificent Marlborough sounds, as the hills hug the sea you quickly realize why ever one raves about the south island of new Zealand. The ferry docked at Picton and I found a K Bus to Nelson.
