A week in Brazil has passed so quickly, I am not sure if it has been lounging around doing nothing that has made the time pass so quickly, but I am back on the gringo trail again after spending luxury time with my folks.
I took for flights out of Bolivia to get to Salvador, Brazil is such a big country....
I arrived at La Paz airport to find my flight time had change and the flight was leaving, doh. So I got on another plane. This stopped at Sucre and then at Santa Cruz, where I had to change for Sao Paulo. Not knowing I had to have a yellow fever jab, I had to blag my way through three medical controls, waving my SA vacination book, which the Bolivians had no idea what it was.
Something to make Scott and Cleggy jelous, in Sao Paulo airport I saw Lance Armstrong. I had to take a second look, but it was definetly him, he was with lots of Brazilians with cycling gear.
The flight was delayed and I had to get an hour bus the resort where my parents were staying, so i didnt arrive until 4am.
The next day I stated getting used to the life of riley, free booze, food and all the other nice things you could wish for, including free windsurfing....tops.
After a couple of daty of doing nothing I took a local bus into Salvador, but missed my connection back, ended up having to take three local buses and a taxi to get back, as the resort is miles from nowehere. It was lucky I meet a local girl from a neighboring resort and her very camp friend.
The thing I noticed about all the Brazilians, is that they always where flip flop and there wear little to nothing of swimwear.
A couple of days later I also went into Salvador with my párents, this time by cab. Salvador contains more of the African history then the rest of the country and was at one time the capital, therefore it has looks of colonial history.
So week past, two stone heavier and now in Rio. Which is fab...
