The titles in honor of Rhod and Claire....
Left Cuenca finally after sorting out my bank stuff and headed on a spectacular four hour bus ride through the mountains to the banana capital of the world, Manchala. It certainly lives up to its name, I though I saw alot of plantations in Honduras, well here the fields went on either side of the road for almost 60km, thats a lot of Bananas. Another 2 hour journey took me across the border and onto Peru. A two hour wait and another 9 hour over night bus journey took me to my destination Chiclayo to see the ancient tombs of Lord Sipan. After offering a small fee to use a hostel showers I got a local ride out the back of the town to Sipan. The site at first is not much to look at as the Pyramids look like piles of mud, but reconstructions show you what it must of looked like. The best thing about it was most travellers go to the museum to look at what has been dug up, this is the over side of Chiclayo. Museums aren´t really my thing, so i´m glad I came straight here. About an hour outside Chiclayo, the two connecting pyramids have a small museum and four burial pits. Because my night bus got to Chiclayo so early I got to the site mid morning and had the pyramids to myself, it was damn cool sitting on top of a 2000 year old temple watching the vultures fly around me. The ruins also had lots of other birds, including some sort of owl that nested in the mud. The ruins also had open tombs within them but i decided it wasn´t a good idea to climb down as if something happened I would be found for days.....
Peru is big country, so i´m glad the buses here are really good and the roads are also pretty damn good. Next couple of days are going to be jammed packed. Chan Chan tomorrow, then Lima, Ica to sand board, then Nazca before chilling out Arequipa for a couple of days. More thumbnails ...

Hi Lorraine,
Ive heard about this, apparently you can also talk to the rest of the prisoners! Athough I dont think its an offical guided tour, Ive been told you have to bribe the prison guards.
Bolivia sounds liek alot of fun, theres a road which you mountain bike down, given the title the most dangerous road in the world, because alot of tourist have dropped of the side.
