Second colonial city in Nicaragua, Granada.
We had an interesting journey yesterday, on the way from Leon to Managua Callum had realized that he had left behind his speakers and other items in the locker. Rather than go back by himself I offered to travel with him, it was only an extra couple of hours.
On the way on from Managua to Granada we got `on the bus` and started on the rum and coke, mostly to the locals amusement. Therefore once in Granada we were half cut already. Then disaster another game of ring of fire. Now i`m not sure if it`s because I`m getting older not that my drinking skills have always been crap (probably the later), but I did have two unplanned stopped to the toilet while drinking. This probably eased my hangover today.
Today we've had a whistle stop tour of the city, which is much grander than Leon, with a beautiful central square and colourful buildings. Times slowly running out in Central America. I do have the option of so many more activities...learning to surf, cloud forest treks, turtle watching. Tomorrow we are going to a volcano crater on the bay of Lake Nicargua and from there I think I am going to travel through to an active volcano in Costa Rica, apparently you can see lava exploding from the top at night! I also want to go through to Bocas del Toras in Panama for a bit more diving in the Carribean, which has excided my expectation after previously bad experiences in Jamaica. Matt`s going the same direction so I think i`ll go with him.
Anyway my plans always change so who knows, I just need to get to San Jose for the 10th September.
