April 12
The first stop today was the Whaling Museum. There were two skeletons of whales there: Kobo (King of the Blue Ocean) was the Blue whale and Bob (not his real name) was the humpback whale. We learned a lot about whales and whaling. It smelled of oil because the oil was still coming out of the bones. Our pen pals gave us part of the tour.

Our pen pals led us on a Scavenger Hunt of New Bedford. It was tricky and confusing. It was also hot and cold at the same time. We walked to their school to eat lunch. The food was delicious. We ate noodles, pasta, soup, pizza, different types of rice dishes, to name a few items.

We sat with our pen pals and talked to them. We chanted the Mele Kahea. They kept clapping at the wrong time because they thought we were done. When we did finish no one clapped - until Kaycie said "We're done" in her shouting voice. The pen pals were nice; some were funny; and some were interesting. They gave us some gifts. We had a group picture in front of the school.

We got on the bus for 5 long hours. Some of us were sleeping, others were getting antsy. We both saw a deer "sleeping" on the side of the highway.

We are now at the hotel that looks like our first hotel except it only has one elevator. We had to wait in line to get to our rooms, except for Jaylinn, Megan, Cori, and another boy (guess who) who were on the first floor.

We are going to the Mud Flats in CANADA, Mr. Nish's home country.

Reporters: Jaylinn and Leia. (Lauren ditched us for another guest. She will be reporting later.)
