October 19, 2008

We drove a long way to Cox Farm. It took 2-3 hours to get there. If we were in Thomas Jefferson's time, it would have taken 2-3 days by horse.

Cox Farm was an extraordinary experience of a fall festival in Virginia. They had hay rides, slides, cow milking show with Farmer Jack, cow milking, rope swing, corn field maze and many pumpkins of different sizes including the state winning pumpkin.

The hay ride was kind of funny looking. It went around the back field of the farm. We past many cartoon character on display (Charlie Brown, Digimon, Disney characters) and other characters not seen on TV (Alien space ship, big-head guy who kept loosing his hat, and farm and jungle animals).

We went on many of their slides because there were so many of them. We did other activities there like the corn maze (we raced each other through the maze), rope swing (Lee did a face plant), and cow milking. Skyler squirted milk all over his arm and he said it was salty. I (Douglas) said it was an awkward experience that I wouldn't like to do again. Farmer Jack was an amusing teacher.

Lunch was at Cox Farm. We (Lee and Douglas) ate nachos that were really, really hot and salty depending on whom you ask. Apple cider was the drink choice. Wasps also seemed to enjoy the cider.
The rest of the day was spent doing other activities at the Farm.
