Eve before the BIG DAY

It's been a LONG couple of weeks with many good byes, tears and laughs. This morning as I woke up, I had yet to pack one item or prepare my car for the long haul to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Nonetheless, it all was done and I am about to get some zzzzz's before I head out in the a.m.
My plan is to wake up, put on some sweats and meet my dear friend Michele at a local bagel shop before I shoot up 75 North towards my first destination - St. Louis. Now, if you know me, you know that I am NOT a morning person and 5 a.m. will not be the easiest for me. There is no doubt that I will not be the happiest camper when I see her. Bless her heart. We'll see how it goes... Tonight was capped perfectly with a phone call from my Mother demanding that I get plenty of sleep, to call her while on the road and to say she loved me. Sleeping in in the a.m. is a family trait, so I do not guess I'll call her till mid-afternoon (smile). In addition, my Dad called from Dubai a couple of minutes ago to tell me to drive safe and that he loved me. I certainly feel the support of my friends and family as I start along this path. Thank you! I want to write more about that, but I believe I'll do that the next few days as I head out to Colorado. Till then, here's to life's journey! Giddy up, Heather

Heather...you are living my dream right now! On my list of things to do before I die is to go west and meet a real cowboy. When you get your roping skills mastered, think you could rope me a nice old cowboy and bring him back to me? Thanks for including me in your journal and allowing me to live vicariously through you. What an awesome adventure. I will keep you in my prayers as you travel and ... show all
