Whew. Full circle. My plane was leaving in 2 days.  I'd seen most of the main sites in Prague when I arrived, so I just planned on meeting Matt and Marcella and their new baby.  But after a few emails and text messages, I found out they were stuck at Marcella's parent's place with a broken car. So I didn't get a chance to say Hi.  Instead, I just toured parts of the city I hadn't seen before on a few trams and with more walking.  I had one last central Europe meal of potato dumplings, cabbage, and roast beef. Hey, when in Rome....I picked a random touristy restaurant and noted that I got ham instead of roast beef.  Instead of complaining, I thought it was funny.  Like I wouldn't notice?  I did have some nice Pad Thai earlier in the day and was feeling kinda guilty at not indulging in the local fare more.  But meat and potatos bores me.  For food, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, and India can't be beat.

I met Petra for one last beer and said goodbye to her and made it an early night since I'd be traveling about 18 hours the next day: a flight to Frankfurt at 10, a transfer to an Air India flight to Chicago, a wait at O'hare and then a bus to Madison.  I arrived at my door at about 9:30 exhausted but happy at another fun trip.

The only weird thing I found was that restaurants charge extra for ketchup or mustard.  You can get a wurst at a train station for a buck but if you want ketchup, that's 20-30 cents extra.  If that's the only weird thing, then the trip was OK.  That and Munich won't let you sit down anywhere for free.  There's no benches or chairs anywhere in that town.  Oh well, another reason to sit in a beer hall.
