Well I was supposed to leave Singapore and head up the East coast of Malaysia before flying out of KL on 5th April. I was having such a good time in Singapore I decided to stay. On Wednesday I went to Sentosa Island and wandered around. It's very touristy. I spent a while lying on the beach and swimming in the sea but it's all man made and nothing compared to other beaches in SE Asia. That evening 13 of us went up to the 72nd floor of a hotel (don't remember the name but it was in the Raffles Centre) and drank half price cocktails for a few hours while watching the sunset. After we headed to China Jump where it was ladies night and drinks were free for the ladies. The bouncers got a bit annoyed cos we kept giving our drinks to the boys, so in the end we left and headed back to Zouk, via Hooters on the funniest tuk-tuk ride with me, Michaela, Paul and Al. Zouk was so much better than the previous time I'd been. Excellent music for dancing to and watching the locals, who had routines for every song known to man, was highly entertaining. On Thursday I went to a water park with Paul, Michaela, Al and Loz, which although it was raining, we were getting wet anyway and we managed to avoid getting sunburnt, was fun. It was then back up the tower for some more cocktails. We tried to head back to Zouk, but it wasn't really open to the public so we headed back to China Jump and somehow managed to lose Michaela and Loz on the way. When we got back to the hostel, Dieter and Karen were planning the opening of the olympic sized swimming pool on the roof of the hostel the following day. The prime minister of Singapore was coming and we were all welcome as long as we wore our best clothes and were on our best behaviour. We helped blow up lots of red balloons, before realising that the following day was 1st April. I couldn't get into bed that night, cos someone had filled it full of red balloons. On Friday I had planned to leave and head back to KL, but Michaela twisted my arm (it didn't take much twisting) and I decided to stay, so along with Paul we went over to Sentosa, wandered around and sat on the beach for a while. We tried to get back to the hostel in time to say farewell to Al and Loz who were leaving but we missed them. I was supposed to be going to book my bus back up to KL for the following morning, but two of the girls came back to say their buses were all fully booked. I really couldn't be bothered walking to the bus station to book it and Michaela once again said why didn't I just stay. I was in two minds as I was supposed to be going to meet my gap friends in KL the following night, but I was enjoying Singapore so much I decided why not. I booked in for another few nights and a few of us went out for dinner. Saturday morning I went for a tree top walk in the rain with a few others from the hostel. Michaela, Paul and I had been trying to get tickets for the Avril Lavigne Concert but couldn't get through on the phone, so we just went down to the concert hall and managed to get tickets. She was great, playing guitar, piano and drums! After we decided to have a quick drink and call it a night, that was before we found a pub selling cheap shots. Twelve shots later we were in the middle of a housing estate flagging down a bus to take us to the nearest station. We got the last train with literally seconds to spare and headed back down to China Jump. So much for an early night. Sunday was fairly quiet, went swimming in the rain (it seems to always be raining in Singapore), went out for dinner with Paul and Michaela, watched some TV and went to bed. I had to get up early to catch my bus back up to KL. It was sad saying farewell to everyone, but I really had a fantastic time in Singapore.

After the fastest border crossing known to man, I was back up in KL and awaiting my flight the following morning......
