I arrived back in Melbourne and headed out to St Kilda for one of the world's biggest festivals. The whole of the town was closed to traffic and 400,000 people were out on the streets enjoying a wide range of bands playing all around town - all for free! I spent most of the afternoon wandering around with Priscilla and listening to lots of different bands - jazz, rock, salsa and dance to name a few. Later on I met up with Hamish and Julie and somehow managed to lose Priscilla. We listened to Xavier Rudd, a one man band who is making a name for himself in Australia playing didgeridoos, guitar, harmonic and drums. He was fantastic. We then watched the Cat Empire who are also beginning to make a name for themselves here. We wandered around for a bit longer watching street performers - dancing, twirling fire and acrobatic martial arts before squeezing onto a tram and heading back into town at about 11.00pm.

On Monday I spent most of the day running around in circles and banging my head off a brick wall trying to get things sorted out and getting nowhere. Fortunately on Tuesday I headed out to the airport and headed off to Tassie for another adventure...
