Yesterday being Good Friday and having the day off work, I headed out to the Peninsula with Catherine and Sheldon. We walked along the beach and came across the weirdest looking fish any of us had ever seen. Sheldon noticed it first and asked us what it was. We couldn't see anything, but as we got closer we could see it moving around in the water. It was at least 2 metres long and covered in a shiny silver foil like coat. It had huge red feelers coming out of its head and horrible feeler like things all along the side of its body. It was the freakiest thing any of us had ever seen. It had obviously washed up on the beach and was dying. As Sheldon had been the first to notice it he decided it was going to call it the Freaky-Deaky fish. We spent a little while longer taking pictures and freaking out everytime the fish moved. We headed back to the car and back to town. After a drive round and a stop to munch on some fries and drink the most revolting soft drink ever - called SARS - we headed up to Baldwin Street - the steepest street in the world! (Yes, it is steeper than the one in San Francisco). Sheldon's poor little car would never have made it up the hill, so we had to walk! It was very steep but didn't take us long to get to the top, where we had great views all over Dunedin.
