5:00 am Okay Okaaaaaaaaaay I am up!!
It's my first day in Lebanon, and apparently the rooster has chosen my particular window to do his crowing at.
On my first day after doing a little unpacking, Mike's parents were eager to get me started on my tour of Lebanon. Mike's Mom announced to me that we were going on a picnic, and to change my clothes. So, I tried to put together my best picnic outfit- jeans, sneakers, and a simple country style top.
We ended up at a very fancy resturaunt, in the mountains
By picnic, she meant to convey resturaunt.
We went to a place in the mountains abouve Beirut, called Aley. It is beautiful up there and a relief to get away into a cooler climate. Beirut is very hot, and I have never experienced humidity like this before. I saw on t.v. that the humidity was at 80%. WHEEW!
The resturaunt is all open, no walls and only a tarpe over head.
Aley is alive with shops, horse carriages, tourist attractions, artists and crafts makers, fancy resturaunts, cafes.. and people are everywhere.
The views of Beirut from the mountain is breathtaking.
More from me later..
