I:
So after a day's recovery in Launceston (eek my back! it's all good, i don't know if it hurt from the car wreck or from the night of too much many jugs at the pub, either way it's all good now!!) we met up with my friend Heath Number 2 who I knew from Blackwood Primary school.  I saw him on Facebook, and we had just exchanged a few emails, and said we'd try to meet up when we came to town, but I didn't really know how all that would go - it's been 17 years and plus i was pretty young, we weren't really friends just in the same grade.  But it was awesome - he was a really great guy and friendly and laid back (and a laugher, man!) and he was cool to just meet up and hang out. And he really helped us out, drove into town to pick us up, and offered for us to crash at his girlfriend Genevieve's house with her 3 kids (teenagers are so freaking cute with Aussie accents!!) She made us up a sweet bed by the fire in the middle of their living room, THANK YOU GEN!!  But really, I can't believe their willingness to just help us out just like that My Little Devil
My Little Devil
.  That's one of the most beautiful things we are discovering as we travel, that people are so open to meeting you and sharing info and helping you out, like everyone you meet is a friend first- no one's mean or suspicious or all the negative, fear-bred things you kind of have in your head.  It's that sense of global community or just humanity or whatever it is that we're really tapping into, and living into, and it's pretty astounding.
Excuse my ladi-da digression! Back to Tazzie - We had ourselves quite a night between the four of us and two giant bottles of Jack and the local pub, we sang our whiskey Drinkin Song (www.TimCharron.com!!))
Heath number 2 works at Trowunna wildlife park just out of Mole Creek, which is a sanctuary and breeding place for Tazzie Devils, and lots of other Aussie natives, an amazing place!   We got the full on experience, getting to meet and hold the animals and got the inside scoop on everything, with all the extra knowledge of an animal loving employee guide.   And all the animals were primping and grooming in anticipation of Jack Hannah's visit in the coming week (ha! i have never even seen his show but it must be allllright:)
